Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 to join T11 North, Paediatric Oncology at UCLH. We treat the under 13's Sarcoma, brain tumour and Hodgkins patient group. Our patients receive Proton Beam Therapy, Radiotherapy, Molecular Radiotherapy Treatment, Brachytherapy and chemotherapy in an inpatient and daycase setting. We work together with Great Ormond Street to provide children with a unified cancer service.
We are looking for a Children's Band 5 nurse (1+yrs qualified) with experience of working on a ward environment, cancer experience is not essential, but must express an interest and a willingness to learn. You will be fully supported and developed by our ward and education teams. There are opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills in a range of areas, to compliment your paediatric nursing skills.
Main duties of the job
- To work as a skilled member of the nursing team, to provide a high standard of holistic family centred care to the children and families.
- To promote family centred care and establish good relationships with children and their families.
- To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.
