The Trauma and Orthopaedic department at UCLH is currently an exciting place to be part of the multidisciplinary team. We provide a busy trauma service and host the Southern NCL elective orthopaedic centre (EOC) at the new start of the art Grafton Way Building.

Main duties of the job

This exciting newly developed lead clinical nurse specialist role will involve providing holistic care and support to patients and their families undergoing trauma and orthopaedic care. Specialist nursing advice and care will be provided throughout the patient pathway, as key worker and core member of the multidisciplinary team. The post holder will lead and line manage the trauma and orthopaedic clinical nurse specialist team and will be part of the clinical nurse specialist care provided to Trauma and elective patients, including the newly developed virtual arthroplasty review service (VAR).

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Trauma and Orthopaedic nurse who seeks to further develop their skills, experience and career. The post holder will require excellent communication skills and have demonstrable leadership skills. In addition they require a desire to lead and develop the specialist nursing care provided to Trauma and Orthopaedic patients in order to ensure high quality patient care and patient experience.
