Job summary
We are seeking a highly qualified, experienced and skilled Speech and Language Therapist to work with deaf adults the auditory implant department. The post-holder will work as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary clinical team in this national centre of excellence in the provision of Auditory Implants.
Main duties of the job
You will be able to demonstrate considerable knowledge and successful experience of working with deaf adults and be particularly skilled in working with those with complex additional needs. An in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of approaches to auditory rehabilitation and cochlear implants and bone-conduction devices is preferred. You will be an essential resource in contributing to the comprehensive assessment of newly referred patients, selection of candidates for cochlear implantation and be involved in their ongoing habilitative and diagnostic management
You will actively participate in the ongoing development of the specialist speech therapy service and multi-disciplinary working which will include ongoing professional development through clinical supervision and the Trust's performance and professional development process.
You will a possess highly developed communication skills, possess sound IT skills and write clinical notes and reports to a very high standard.
