Job summary
The Red Cell Network (TRCN) are recruiting a part-time administrator and multidisciplinary team (MDT) coordinator. The job is for 22.5 hours per week and is part of the Haematology in the Cancer Division at UCLH.
Established in 2020, TRCN Haemoglobinopathy Coordination Centre (HCC) is an NHSE commissioned service which aims to coordinate, support and promote high quality care for sickle cell and thalassemia patients in the region.
TRCN Administrator and MDT Coordinator will bring outstanding administrative skills and will be responsible for supporting the running of the network in collaboration with the Network Manager and Consultant Lead.
This role requires the coordination of colleagues and patients across many hospital Trusts and a large geographical area, so excellent communication, organisation and prioritisation are fundamental to success.
Main duties of the job
As the Network Administrator and MDT Coordinator, you will be responsible for organising and facilitating network meetings and events, which range from Patient and Public Voice Group (PPVG) meetings, to specialised training sessions for health care professionals, to monthly MDT review meetings.
You will work closely with the Network Manager to ensure work undertaken is in line with the annual workplan and is in the best interest of patients.
The vastness of the networks means there are also general administrative housekeeping duties such as monitoring a dedicated network email inbox, keeping accurate distribution lists etc.
You will also be responsible for writing minutes of network meetings, keeping action logs, and recording attendances at training sessions, as well as completing the necessary paperwork following each MDT meeting.

Job Purpose

The postholder will be responsible for coordinating the MDT meetings which involve haematology teams from various Trusts across the landscape of the networks. They will collect and process referrals, facilitate the meetings and process outcomes in line with established processes.
The post holder will also be responsible for supporting the Network Manager in raising awareness of TRCNs initiatives which seek to improve the care delivered to patients with haemoglobinopathies. This may include but is not limited to: facilitating and attending patient engagement events, education and teaching sessions, site visits to participant Trusts, external stakeholder meetings, and communicating with a vast network of colleagues across multiple platforms.
