Job summary
An exciting career opportunity has arisen in the Radiation Physics section of Medical Physics & Biomedical Engineering at UCLH Trust. We are looking for a self-motivated clinical technologist to make a major contribution to the radiation protection services provided by the department and in particular, the personal dosimetry service, ultrasound QC and monitor calibration services. Previous experience of working with a personal dosimetry service would be advantageous, but training will be provided if required. The candidate will also be required to assist with xray QC surveys as work demands.
Applications will be accepted from individuals who are listed on the Register of Clinical Technologists (RCT) or those who would be eligible to apply within 12 months.
The post is a full time, permanent position working alongside a team of 7 clinical scientists.
Main duties of the job
The role requires knowledge of radiation protection in healthcare and academic research environments. The role also requires an understanding of other physics services such as Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy and how Radiation Physics interact with these departments - for a fuller description please refer to the job description.
As a member of the team providing medical physics services you will work across all departments using radiation in the Trust, and with a broad range of external clients in and around London.
The department has close links with UCL.
