Main duties of the job

  • Assess patients by discussing their mental health conditions with them.
  • Provide treatment to patients and ensure medications are correctly administered.
  • Prepare patients' records and maintain them effectively.
  • To escalate appropriately any changes in the patients mental or physical state.
  • Promoting patients independence, choice, dignity, and respect by delivering the very best standards of care and striving for continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with other staff members characterised by trust, mutual respect, and open, honest communication. This role is for a Registered Mental Health Nurse who has robust, evidence-based knowledge of mental health care within an acute setting and who wants a flexible and rewarding role. The post holder will be responsible for the safe delivery of individualised care to patients while working as part of a Multi-disciplinary Team. The post holder should be an advocate for their patients, meaning that they should actively support and represent the interests and needs of the patients.

  • At least 6 months (post preceptorship) NHS ward based experience within the last 3 years and experience working within mental healthcare
