Job summary
This is a substantive Consultant Radiologist post in GI Radiology at University College London Hospitals, based in the Radiology Department at UCH. The post-holder must have subspecialty experience in GI, as well as general / oncology cross sectional radiology, in order to support the delivery of the radiology services at UCH.
The successful appointment will be working with a team of consultants who specialise in upper and lower GI radiology. Under the London Cancer reconfiguration, UCLH is the centre for complex GI surgery. There are extensive opportunities for academic collaboration with University College London and its medical school.
The post-holder will work closely with the existing team of Consultant Radiologists to develop and enhance the imaging service provided to acute, outpatient and inpatient services and to strengthen the reporting profile of the Department. The Radiology Department is very active in both teaching and research and the post-holder would be expected to participate in these.
Applicants should possess the FRCR or equivalent and be on the specialist register or within 3 months of obtaining their CCST.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will join the GI Radiology team. The team is made up of 4 Upper GI Consultant Radiologists and 6 Lower GI Consultant Radiologists. The main duties of this post are as follows:
- Ability to perform all aspects of GI imaging
- Develop the GI service under the guidance of the clinical leads.
- Participate in teaching and training
- Participate in audit
- Contribute to clinical research via the UCL Centre for Medical Imaging.
The post will involve 8.5 sessions per week of clinical work. This will involve the reporting of both upper GI and lower GI scans and contributing to both upper and lower GI MDTs.
The successful applicant will also take part in the general radiology on call rota.
