We are situated in central London to enable you to access good transport links both nationally and internationally, which makes us perfectly positioned for when you are off duty too, as we're located right in the heart of London's West End.As a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse you should hold a neonatal qualification, we offer an excellent opportunity to consolidate your experience in our busy unit. You will be able to enhance your ITU skills and develop and progress to managing the special care / high dependency area. You should ideally possess a recognised teaching qualification and demonstrate the ability for and commitment to study, however there is an opportunity for this to be fulfilled once employed.If you are dedicated to contributing to a team delivering excellence in neonatal care and serious about pursuing a rewarding career at UCLH, the neonatal unit is definitely the place for you. Main duties of the job
1. To work according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse (or key worker) for a defined group of patients and take responsibility for:o ensuring provision of a high standard of holistic, patient-centred careo assessing nursing care and health education needso development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care including discharge planning for each patient
2. To develop the necessary skills and experience in the Unit / Department management and provide leadership in the absence of the sister / charge nurse.3. To promote and participate in the implementation of the UCLH Nursing & Midwifery strategy and Core Standards and contribute towards achieving the Trust's "Top 10" Objectives4. To develop and implement Audit, Quality and Risk Management initiatives.5. To teach and act as a facilitator/mentor/preceptor to student nurses
