Job summary

UCLH has an exciting job opportunity for a Staff Nurse working in our Gynaecology Diagnostic and Early Pregnancy Unit. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about working in Women's Health and delivering excellent care to women through challenging times.

We are a small team of motivated and friendly nurses working closely alongside a medical team who lead on Women's Health research both nationally and internationally.

You would be supported by the outpatient department Sister and a team of experienced nurses and healthcare assistants.

The successful candidate for this post must be a team player, but also able to work under their own initiative. They will require excellent communication, empathy and people skills and the ability to manage a busy environment.

Main duties of the job

As a Staff Nurse in our Early Pregnancy Unit, your role will include:

  • Nurse Co-ordinator Early Pregnancy telephone advice, arranging emergency admissions, organising inpatient scans and nurse - led venepuncture clinic
  • Triage Nurse Nurse-led triage and assessment of our walk in early pregnancy patients.
  • Procedure Nurse Assistance with sterile procedures that are performed on an out-patient basis. Post procedure monitoring.

Your role will also include daily organisation of the clinic including opening and closing the unit. You must be able to work flexibly, efficiently, enjoy creative problem solving and be keen to develop clinical skills in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will also have a fantastic opportunity within this role to undertake a rotational period onto our specialist gynaecology inpatient ward to expand their knowledge and skills within Women's Health.
