An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 1.0 WTE Consultant Nurse in Huntington's Disease/ Clinical Lead to join our award-winning Huntington's disease service based at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
The multidisciplinary Huntington's disease service at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery was established in 2003 and sees people with/at risk of Huntington's disease from all over the south of England and beyond. The service has an international reputation for excellent clinical care and is at the forefront of global Huntington's disease research. (www.hdresearch.ucl.ac.uk)
Main duties of the job
The post holder will take a leadership role in the delivery and development of the UCLH's Clinical Huntington 's disease service. The post holder will work autonomously with all multi-disciplinary team members and will lead the development and delivery of high-quality care, support and management for people with/at risk of Huntington's disease. This will involve providing highly specialist input autonomously via nurse led video and face to face clinics, operational management and financial planning for the service as well as providing overall leadership for the HD clinical team. A crucial part of the role will be managing the neuropsychiatric case load and developing innovative community outreach services.

Applicants must have a special interest and at least 6 years advanced clinical experience in Huntingtons disease and a proven track record in leadership, service development and operational management. Experience in community service provision and/ or complex psychiatry is highly desirable
