An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Procurement and Supply Chain Directorate at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Procurement and Supply Chain Directorate is seeking motivated, analytical, conscientious individuals who can work under pressure in challenging financial times.

The Procurement and Supply Chain Directorate is a high performing, award winning team which strives to support clinical boards and divisions to deliver their CIP programmes, through value based Procurement. Based in the Strategic Procurement Team, the Procurement Officer role will provide support for the team.

Main duties of the job

The post of Procurement Officer reporting to the Assistant Procurement Business Partner will be responsible for identifying, supporting and leading on procurement projects which will deliver cash releasing and value added savings against non-pay spend, contributing to the CIP target. The post holder/Procurement Officer will also be expected to provide analytical support, market analysis, track implementation of projects, contribute to opportunity development and assist with a range of procurement activities.

The post holder will have the opportunity to be exposed to a wide range of categories and would suit a candidate looking to commence or grow that procurement knowledge and experience within a supportive and challenging environment.

  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work in a pressurised environment.
  • Knowledge of Procurement, Supply Chain methodologies and concepts specifically EU Procurement Legislation & Regulations gained through post graduate level qualification or equivalent experience.

Desirable

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a business related discipline i.e. Engineering, Business Studies, Management, Supply Chain
  • Member of CIPS or part qualified or equivalent

  • Experience/suitable skills of working in pressurised and challenging environments.
  • Experience/suitable skills of supporting and working in multidisciplinary projects.
  • Experience/suitable skills in customer focused service and staff management.
