An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward-thinking candidate to join Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square within the Specialist Services Department in the role of MDT Coordinator for the Inherited White Matter Disorders team.
The role of the MDT co-ordinator in the North Central London Inherited White Matter Disorder service is to provide administrative support to a highly specialised team of consultants, nurses, psychologists and geneticists. Your skills will ensure the smooth and efficient running of services designed to support children and young people suffering with a variety of neurological conditions called leukodystrophies. It is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced NHS administrator looking to support a highly unique service.
The postholder will sit within a wider team of similar posts, and be hosted at Queen Square, Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
The service is a highly specialised service delivered by multiple teams across England for Inherited White Matter Disorders, the postholder will be required to support specific projects of national work.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be responsible for receiving and recording referrals to the service, managing patient lists, scheduling MDT meetings, recording meeting outcomes including minute taking, letter writing, updating patient lists, and distributing summary reports internally.
The postholder will also liaise with others services in England to ensure standardised practices are adopted in each service, and to provide information to external stakeholders such as commissioners and a national registry.

With a £240m turnover and around 2,400 staff, the Division of Queen Square within the Specialist Hospitals Board is the largest division at UCLH.
It comprises the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN), the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine (RLHIM), the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) at UCH, the Pain Management Centre at Cleveland Street, London and the Sir William Gowers Unit in Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire.
The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN), at Queen Square, is the UK's largest dedicated neurological and neurosurgical hospital. Together with its neighbour, the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, it is a major international centre for research and training and is the premier Neurosciences centre in the UK.
This is a permanent role and will work in the Neurology department.

The successful post holder will work closely alongside clinical teams actively managing the administrative process of patient pathways. The MDT Co-ordinator is responsible for providing an effective administration service to the multidisciplinary team.
The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to patients pathways of care, working alongside consultants and other disciplines of clinical staff. They will monitor and maintain the databases supporting patient information in the specialities, taking responsibility for ensuring the quality of information recorded.
You will be an experienced administrator with an eye for detail and excellent interpersonal skills. You will need proven keyboard skills and an aptitude for using a variety of IT systems. A degree of flexibility with your working hours is also required, as is an excellent telephone manner.
The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a busy, challenging but rewarding environment. You must have a positive approach to change and be highly motivated to work effectively and efficiently.
