Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic midwives to join our high-quality midwifery continuity teams. We have very strong Trust values of Safety, Kindness, Teamwork and Improving and we strive to live and example these in our everyday work with women and with our colleagues.

If you are a midwife who would like to be a part of our future and work in this warm, caring environment, we welcome your interest in a post with us - please apply today!

Main duties of the job

Our Continuity teams are Aurora, Astra, Luna, Nova. Each team has 7 experienced Midwives and one motivated Team leader. The teams have regular away days and meetings which strengthen their bond and communication. We receive excellent patient feedback and UCLH is the top trust in the country for staff satisfaction.

The teams work on a shift basis which reduces the number of on-calls expected and ensures all skills are kept up to date. You can expect to have your own community clinic, a mix of postnatal visits and intrapartum shifts (days and nights). Our midwives value this way of working as it offers them a work life balance, up to date skills and the guarantee of unsociable hours payment.

Our community patch includes Islington, Camden, barbican and soho, some of the most attractive places in London to work. We promote informed choice and aim to increase the number of women using our birth centre, but the teams provide care to women in any setting, from delivery suite to home. We aim to always deliver high quality and safe care.Midwives who join the teams will have the opportunity for clinical rotation into all areas of our maternity service over time, to maintain and develop their wider clinical skills. Including an opportunity to work in a caseloading team.
