Job summary

The Events and Community Fundraiser plays a key role in securing income and raising awareness of the charity and the local community. They will work autonomously to organise and manage fundraising activities including major events, third party events, raffles and lotteries, and engage, enthuse and support community fundraisers such asschools, groups and individuals to achieve agreed income targets in each of these areas.

The post holder will be responsible for managing volunteer community fundraisers who are vital to the success of this fundraising.

The post holder will require reasonable knowledge of fundraising and considerable energy and enthusiasm that will inspire the patients, visitors, staff and local community to choose London Ambulance Charity as their preferred charity to support. He/she will also engage and maintain relationships with individual fundraisers, local businesses, staff and volunteer networks.

The purpose of this role is to ensure that fundraising ideas and events are in place that will have high profile and will generate funds to agreed targets. The post holder must be inventive and highly organised in order to initiate and then deliver highly successful events. Working closely with groups and individuals, the ideal candidate will have an outgoingpersonality, keen for direct contact with people, good at motivating and self-confident.

Main duties of the job

Act as an ambassador for and represent the charity in a professional and efficient manner.Regularly review the current programme of events and community fundraising, identifying key growth areas and opportunities for development, and sharing insights and recommendations with senior staff.Ensure the charity provides excellent supporter care to all fundraisers and supporters taking part in an event or organising their own activities.With the Head of Charity Development, develop a community and events fundraising strategy, maximising income from community and events fundraising streams and delivering/exceeding financial targets.Lead the growth of our existing network of community supporters, further developing a pool of proactive individuals and groups raising money in aid of the charity's work.Manage the delivery of new fundraising activities in the events and community programme, setting income and expenditure targets for these, including product and campaign development.
