Job summary
- The Operational Delivery Manager (OPM) is the member of the senior leadership team.
- The role of the ODM is to be responsible for the delivery of the complete Make Readyservices in order to support Trust ambulance operational performance and the delivery of high quality patient care.
- With responsibility for the whole of the make ready operations; the post holders will helpshape strategic direction; execute improvements and developments and be accountable for the performance, financial and quality standards for the service.
- As a senior manager, and reporting directly to the General Manager of Make Ready, the post holders will be seen as the subject matter expert for MR operational delivery for bothinternal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- The ODM post-holders will deputise for the General Manager as required.
- The post-holders will have the strategic vision of the make ready services and to demonstrate to all a clear vision of the future for make ready. They will lead thedevelopment of the department against a background of changing demands, MakeReady in sourced objectives and Trust needs, whilst improving standards and performance of overall services together with ensuring the department delivers value formoney.
- The ODM is accountable for leading and managing a team of Sector managers and theresponsible for the associated make ready operational management and front lineteams and their performance and productivity standards.
Main duties of the job
- The ODM will lead innovative development of tailored policies and services (such asambulance make ready and movements, ambulance kit guide, refueling, vehicle cleaning, hubs medical equipment availability, medical equipment collection from A&Ehospitals, stock management ) collaborating across teams to optimise service deliveryaligned with departmental goals.
- Proactively engaging with stakeholders, including clinical and operational teams, the ODM ensures policies and services are responsive to dynamic change while aligning with trust objectives.
- The ODM's pivotal role involves driving policy implementation, translating strategicdirectives into actionable plans, and ensuring adherence to guidelines, fosteringcompliance and continuous improvement.
- Responsible for the development of Business cases in conjunction with Trustleadership teams incorporating analysis of highly complex operational data/statistics.
- Numerate with strong analytical and problem solving skills. Proven ability to interpret highly complex data and high levels of concentration.
