Job summary

London's Air Ambulance is a tripartite service delivered by London's Air Ambulance, Bart's Health and London Ambulance Service NHS Trusts. This post is a LAS secondment opportunity funded by Bart's Health but with employment remaining with LAS. On a day to day basis the post will be line managed via Bart's Health but with a reporting line to LAS.The initial secondment is for 12 months which will be reviewed with the potential to extendfor a further 12 months.The London Ambulance service covers an area of 620 sq. miles, serves one of the world'smost dynamic and diverse cities, it is the busiest ambulance service in the UK and anessential part of London's Air Ambulance.For 35 years Bart's Health has provided the medical staff and clinical governance forLondon's Air Ambulance and has a global reputation for excellence. The Trust recognisesthat educational processes are constantly evolving, and with it, the need for an experiencedand highly skilled paramedic who shares the vision of a world-class programme forgovernance and clinical training.

Main duties of the job

  • Support the Clinical Leads with ensuring high standards of clinical governance in theservice.
  • Development of London's Air Ambulance clinical staff.
  • Provide administration and governance of medical equipment for the service.
  • Provide clinical leadership to the paramedic group.
  • Support paramedic education.

About us

Successful candidates will be paid at AfC Band 7, 20% inner high cost area supplement and 17% unsocial hours will be a requirement in order to carry out operational shifts.

Support the Clinical Leads with ensuring high standards of clinical governance in the service:Manage occurrences reported via Barts Health DATIX process and LAASMS processDeputise for the Lead paramedic of Operations (LPO) to maintain operationalreadiness.Lead the services management of change process

Ensure all SOPs are in date and free from technical errors and work with theClinical Leads to ensure appropriate reviewSupport the Clinical Leads with the discharge of their responsibilities for theday-to-day governance of the service.

  • Bachelor's Degree or foundation degree and working towards BSc or level 6 study
