Job summary

To lead on all Estates building services matters including design, procurement, installation and whole life maintenance. Ensuring an effective and efficient Planned Preventative Maintenance Program (PPM) to cover all items for which Estates are responsible.

To lead on major Mechanical & Electrical Capital projects. Holding responsibility for the compliance of the Estates & Facilities Department with all relevant Statutory and Mandatory checks and inspections.

To lead on the London Ambulance Service Energy Policy. Hold budget accountability by ensuring value for money is maintained at all times. Ensure that at all times the integrity of the Building services to the control rooms, communication rooms and other 999 & 111 facilities are maintained to level where there is no disruption to service.

Main duties of the job

To project manage all Estates major engineering capital schemes, liaising with all consultants, preparing briefs and monitoring budgets.

Manage a range of small to medium sized engineering capital schemes from inception through to commissioning and occupation.

Manage the Building Services Engineers, including recruitment, appraisal, development.

To have full responsibility for all mechanical and electrical plant and installations at LAS including maintaining mechanical and electrical plant for critical services to Emergency Operations Centres (EOC), requiring consultation with Network and Systems, Applications and Operations Managers.

Organise and Chair meetings in the form of: Customer liaison meeting, consultant planning meetings also contractor pre-start meeting and progress meetings.

Monitor total engineering of the Estate to ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements.

Develop/monitor Quality Assurance and Benchmark Standards to ensure commitment to the pursuit of value for money.

Participation in the Out Of Hours rota, to receive emergency calls and if necessary attend to site outside of normal working hours.
