Job summary
As principal expert and strategic lead for security and violence reduction within the Trust, the Security Management & Violence Reduction Specialist will be the Trust's subject matter expert on security management and violence reduction, leading and overseeing the work programme for the Trust's compliance to meet any NHS Standards that relate to Security Management and/or Violence Prevention/Reduction.
Building on the foundations already laid, the post holder will plan, develop and implement a long-term strategy and associated work streams to address violence and aggression, promoting a positive security and violence reduction culture, encouraging full reporting in order to engender proactive and robust security across the organisation.
Providing up to date professional/specialist advice to the Trust on all matters relating to security management within the context of the national legal framework for tackling violence and security management work, the post holder will keep up to date with security developments and horizon scan, identifying changes or threats that may affect the Trust and then plan and implement measures accordingly to help mitigate these and protect the Trust.
Main duties of the job
- To lead and promote a positive security and violence reduction culture in order to engender proactive and robust security across the organisation.
- To act as the subject matter expert on security management and violence reduction and lead on implementation of national standards and guidance across the Trust.
- To build and maintain positive working relationships across the organisation and work closely with IM&T Cyber-Security, Fleet and Logistics, Estates, Emergency Planning, Resilience and Response, Counter Fraud, Information Governance, Operations, Clinical Education and the Health & Safety Team.
