Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of head of nursing to join the Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) Team at London Ambulance Service providing clinical nurse leadership.

Please note: The JD attached is indicative, so the remuneration package, banding and responsibilities of the role may change.

Main duties of the job

As head of nursing, you will work closely with the local senior management team and engage with key stakeholders from across the local urgent care landscape to provide high quality care to patients. You will also ensure that the overall performance of the IUC meets quality and access standards, operational efficiency of clinical pathways and cost effectiveness of the models of care and effective governance.

You will provide leadership, support and advice to the IUC multi-disciplinary team, including Call Handlers, Health Advisors, Nurses, Paramedics and Advanced Practitioners. You will also undertake clinical sessions within the IUC CAS.

You will report the Assistant Medical Director and be supported by the LAS clinical directorate.

  • Graduate qualification BSc or equivalent relevant to professional discipline
  • Master's level degree qualification and equivalent experience, in a professionally related subject
