This is an exciting opportunity to join The London Ambulance Service and become a key member of the developing Mental Health Team in providing specialist psychotherapeutic interventions to a unique workforce.We are looking for an experienced and thoughtful Psychodynamic Psychotherapist to join our team. This is a permanent post.
Applicants must have a qualification in psychodynamic psychotherapy accredited by BPC/UKCP/ BACP or similar.
Main duties of the job
- To provide hybrid / remote psychodynamic psychotherapy for staff with complex mental health concerns, including trauma-related issues, suicide risk and chronic stress disorder.
- To provide the appropriate specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes.
- To contribute to enabling staff from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.
- This role will assist the Head of Staff Mental Health in the delivery and development of the Agenda in relation to Staff Mental Health.
- To maintain and promote the highest standards of clinical record keeping including data entry and recording, report writing and the responsible exercise of professional self-governance.

- Degree Level of education and training in Adult Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
- Post-registration training in Trauma Therapy
- Training in / accreditation as a Stress Management Practitioner
- Training in / accreditation in Group Work

- Registered / accredited as a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist
Experience
Essential
- Extensive and demonstrable experience in the field of mental health and mental health services in an Emergency Service Environment especially as it pertains to suicide, PTSD and Chronic Stress Disorder; face to face and online experience.
- At least 6 years post qualification experience as a psychodynamic psychotherapist delivering short/medium/longer-term therapeutic work integrating appropriate theoretical modalities
- Extensive experience in assessment and treatment, including individual and group Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, time-limited and long-term work with a wide range of clients
- Sound theoretical knowledge of psychodynamic psychotherapy and experience in offering psychotherapy across cultural and other differences
- Teaching, training and clinical supervisory experience
