The London Ambulance Service NHS Trust is the UK's largest ambulance service and we have brought our Make Ready/Vehicle Preparation function back in house which is part of change and transformation for the service. This is a critical role for the trust as it involves ensuring that all London Ambulance Service vehicles are cleaned, prepared and available, and in the right place at the right time to meet the operational requirements of the service and ensure that LAS delivers high patient care. Main duties of the job
Following the decision to TUPE the contract in house the London Ambulance Service now provides its own 'Make Ready' service. 'Make Ready' is the name given to the cleaning, checking and restocking of clinical vehicles.
The purpose of the Vehicle Preparation Logistics role is to ensure that LAS ambulances and cars are cleaned thoroughly, checked, refueled and are roadworthy and to ensure that all ambulances and cars are accurately stocked with clinical supplies and clinical equipment. Our Vehicle Preparation Logistics make certain that all Ambulances and cars are prepared, packed, and ready for response to an emergency 999 call and so are a key part of providing patient care.
Due to the need to move ambulances between stations for cleaning and restocking we are looking for individuals who are C1 drivers, that is, have C1 on their driving licence. The work is predominantly outdoors and includes some carrying and lifting. In addition you will use a handheld device to be allocated work and to record tasks completed.

We operate from 15 location across London and currently have a number of vacancies at a variety of locations, although this is subject to change.
The current shift pattern is:
Thursday to Saturday (3 shifts) 2300-0900 equating to 27hr per week excluding breaks
Or
Sunday to Wednesday (4 shifts) 2300-0900 equating to 36hr per week excluding breaks
