Job summary

The post holder will be the principal link between the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust and the Partner Higher Education Institution (HEI) they are assigned to

This will take place:within education centres in a formal classroom setting or virtual classroom within the partner higher education institutionswithin an operational environment where there will be patient interaction on operational vehicles as Paramedics interacting with patients in external environments to support partner education programmes

The post holder will deliver these activities, as scheduled to meet the demands of the Trust and the partner HEIs, including the monitoring and mentoring of all learner activitiesThe post holder will be actively involved in promoting best practise across the service whilst maintaining compliance with local and national policies and standards both within the Trust and the HEIsDelivering appropriate Emergency Operational services and managerial duties as required by the Clinical Education & Standards (CE&S) DepartmentAttending appropriate level meetings supporting management of the HEI student developmentThe post holder will be required to work at pan London Education and HEI sites -- St Georges University of London, Anglia Ruskin University, University of West London, Bucks New University, University of Cumbria

Main duties of the job

Supporting HEI students whilst on placement to complete their formal learning, including Practice Assessments Documents (PADs) working with Practice Educators Practice Education Leads CTM's/ATM's/LGM's locally.Deliver mandatory pre-placement briefings for all students on an HEI programme on placement with LAS prior to every placement block.Attend Placement debriefs following all placement blocks in association with the practice leads for the relevant HEI and year group answering questions of practice and policy and as a way of quality assurance.Liaising with HEIs and relevant student for additional placement time and/or support where necessary including Placement retrieval for the failing students, recovery packages when placements fail. Building effective and collaborative relationships with HEIs Faculties, LAS local management (CTM, ATM, SSM, QGAM, LGM, ADO) and LAS and HEI quality teams, supporting the ongoing education of students (examples attending and supporting TPR (tripartite review) meetings, sharing learning from incidents, arrange and deliver both LAS and HEI specific training, support CPD sessions).Be a point of contact for educational queries, ensuring a safe and consistent response is provided. Share any areas of concern with peers and managers.
