Job summary
To provide a comprehensive, highly specialist and high quality operational and proactive service to all medical staff at the Trust including resident doctors ensuring consistent application of policies and procedures and adhering to the National Terms and Conditions of Service.To work in conjunction with Senior Medical staff and reporting to the Medical Education and Library Manager. Responsible for the day-to-day management and resourcing of medical rotas, working with Medical Directors, clinical directors and Rota Coordinators. Ensuring compliance and sufficient staffing via both substantive and temporary staff. Responsible for ensuring best roster practice throughout all medical rosters across the trust.
Will provide leadership and line management to rota co-ordinators within the services ensuring a high level of service is covered and will be expected to familiarise themselves and work across all Trust sites.
The post holder will have overall day to day responsibility for the management of all the Medical Rotas. The postholder will work with Clinical Directors/ Service Leads to design, create and manage a rota model that will fulfil the requirements of each service/division. This includes putting in place an escalation process to ensure strong communication between the rota team and the division leads to ensure effective escalation of issues.

Responsible for the ongoing assessment and monitoring of working practices/ rotas to ensure they are compliant with local and national guidelines and agreed terms and conditions. Working with medical workforce team to ensure they are compliant.
