Job summary

Have 24-hour managerial accountability for the delivery of mental health care and support toresidents at the Crisis and Prevention House (CPH).o Ensure that the house environment is maintained to a high standard Assume linemanagement and budgetary responsibility for CPH team.o Be responsible for effective clinical and managerial communication systems to, from andwithin the house.o Provide leadership to ensure a high standard of care.o Ensure an explicit and consistent co-produced approach is used to inform and support howthe CPH engages with people using the CPH.o Work closely and alongside urgent care and community services to ensure best use ofresources and management of the beds at the house.o Support the development of the CPH to be prevention orientated, recovery focused, andwellbeing informed in terms of staff roles, house function and service delivery.o Support the integration of the CPH with community and third sector organisations/resource.

Main duties of the job

Provide clear managerial leadership to the guests and staff of the house, managing the dailyaffairs of the house to improve standards of care to residents.o Lead in the recruitment, selection and retention of staff in the area.o Co-ordinate bed management for the house, ensuring good planning arrangements foradmission and discharge of guests.o Ensure the house is adequately and safely staffed from within the agreed establishment byadopting a flexible approach to duty patterns.o Ensure the efficient use of staff resources to meet identified needs and manage this withinagreed annual budget. Participate in budget setting with Service Manager.o Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment, making efforts to reduce the numbers of GuestsSafety Incidents.o In the event of Guests Safety Incidents, ensure they are dealt with swiftly and in line withpolicy. Organise support to guests following incidents and debriefing of staff. Draw outlearning points and areas for practice development.o Investigate complaints, accidents, and Guests Safety Incidents in accordance with agreedprocedure and prepare reports.o Ensure effective communication is established within the house and external departments.e.g., regular staff meetings, attendance at House Manager's Meetings and CMHT meetings.o Develop working practices between house staff and community teams to ensure joint workingacross services in the delivery of care to guests.

Ensure systems are in place for the safekeeping of guests property and valuables inaccordance with the Trusts guests property procedure. Actively participate in conjunction with other disciplines, in the formulation andimplementation of house and unit policies as required.
