Job summary

We are looking for a Specialist Eating Disorders Dietitian who is enthusiastic, committed and interested in joining our busy and dynamic in-patient team at St Ann's Eating Disorders Service on a 12 month fix term contract . The successful candidate will be responsible for the dietetic oversight of the service.

St Ann's Eating Disorders Service is a specialist, tertiary service providing comprehensive care and treatment to those with eating disorders in North Central London and North East London.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide specialist dietetic input to the eating disorders service including the in-patients, out-patients and day-hospital patients. This involves working with service users and multi-disciplinary team members to identify and address the complex psychological and social factors that affect compliance with dietary treatment, thus enabling long-term permanent lifestyle changes
  • To provide specialist advice to service users with eating disorders deemed to be at high physical risk
  • To undertake clinical assessments and dietetic intervention for service users which may include complex enteral feeding (PEG and NG) and where MEED guidelines for re-feeding are used
  • To run groups on nutritional issues for services users to support their recovery
  • To write, implement and monitor guidelines for management of service users to be used within the service and to guide other HCP's for patients admitted to other acute hospitals
  • To work effectively as a team member of the dietetic service providing a flexible service, covering other dietetic services as appropriate including in-patient, out-patient and day programme
  • To maintain a high standard of clinical practice
  • To work as a member of a multidisciplinary team, establishing collaborative working relationships, sharing skills and information
  • To work autonomously within the eating disorders dietetic team with little or no daily supervision

  • Registration as a dietitian with HCPC.
