Job summary

A vacancy has arisen for a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist to join the Generic CAMHS team in Haringey CAMHS.

This team provide a range of evidence informed interventions to children and adolescents up to Age 18 identified as requiring specialist CAMHS to address mental health and emotional wellbeing needs.This post holder will offer systemic psychotherapy to children and families presenting with a broad range of mental health concerns and contribute to the range of clinical work offered by Generic CAMHS. You will be key member of the Multi-disciplinary team, offering a systemic perspective to care planning by the team and provide specialist advice and consultation to partner agencies.The post holder will have the opportunity to join a family therapy reflecting team clinic and contribute to the NVR parenting group offer. This is an exciting time to join the service, as the CAMHS Division progresses work to transform the delivery of services for children and young people, drawing on the principles of the Thrive approach. The post holder will be willing to make a positive contribution to future service development and committed to co-production.

The Haringey Generic CAMHS Team is a warm and welcoming multidisciplinary team. There are opportunities for co-working with colleagues from other disciplines. You will receive regular clinical and management supervision and the Trust offer a range of training and professional development opportunities.

Main duties of the job

To provide a systemic assessment of referrals of a significant and complex nature with a view to formulating and implementing plans for the treatment and management of a child or adolescent's mental health problems within the context of family and other systems. These assessments will be based upon an appropriate conceptual framework and will employ research based evidence and also information from appropriate rating scales, self report measures and service user feedback.

To work in ways which are sensitive to the needs of families from a wide range of racial, cultural religious backgrounds. This includes an ability to understand and offer therapeutic interventions to a variety of family forms including single parents, blended families, same sex couples and their wider family networks, accommodated children and their network of care, children who are on the At Risk register and parents with mental health difficulties

To provide specialist systemic psychotherapy with clinical autonomy, drawing on a range of models and approaches, and incorporating both short and long-term interventions. To practice in a way that is inclusive and considerate of the needs of each individual in the system, including family members at a variety of developmental stages and taking account of the current emotional state of each individual member.
