An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic innovative Specialist Family Therapist to join the new north Tri-borough 0-5 pathway. The post-holder will be co-located in on the CAMHS teams and have a key role in working with the pathway lead to develop the systemic offer to the pathway.
The 0-5 team provides input to infants, toddlers and preschool children and couples/families in the pre and perinatal periods. This new service will provide a comprehensive range of assessment and therapeutic interventions, and consultation to professionals dealing with infants, young children and families. The post-holder will conduct assessments and deliver evidence based systemic psychotherapy for a broad range of presentations between the ages of 0-5.
The post holder will have a leading role in the pathway and expected to provide clinical supervision to other clinicians and trainees. They will also be expected to provide specialist advice and consultation regarding treatment to CAMHS colleagues, external agencies, working both autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
The post holder will make positive contributions to any future service developments and the delivery of high quality, evidence-based care pathways and use outcome measures. The post holder will contribute towards involving service users in every aspect of the service.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for implementing a range of systemic psychotherapeutic interventions, specifically those with an evidence base in the 0-5 age group. Drawing upon different explanatory models to maintain several provisional hypotheses in reaching a formulation and treatment plan.
To undertake risk assessment and risk management including protective and risk factors present in the network of significant relationships and to provide general advice to other professionals regarding risk assessment and management. This may also include assessment of risk for self-harm.
To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of children, young people, and families whose problems and formulate effective care plans in collaboration with the client and family.
To work jointly and collaboratively with other multidisciplinary team members to enhance and develop work with families by providing specialist systemic knowledge and skills.
To communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and to provide reports
To include and consult service users at all stages of assessment, care planning and treatment.
To lead on innovative service development in consultation with the discipline lead, addressing waiting times and ensure that the priorities are in line with the long-term plan.
