Preceptorship Programme

We understand that being a newly qualified practitioner can feel quite daunting and bring numerous challenges. We also recognise that the transition to registered practitioner is unique to each and every person. To help support you we have developed a bespoke preceptorship programme, which includes:

  • Preceptorship in the workplace
  • Taught sessions
  • Reflection
  • Action learning sets
  • Peer support
  • Provision of a range of learning materials

Our preceptorship programme has received the Quality Mark 2018/19 from Capital Nurse.

Main duties of the job

Opportunity to Gain Experience in a Wide Range of Specialist Settings

We employ staff in both inpatient and community settings across a variety of areas including the below and more:

  • Acute Inpatient
  • Older People's Mental Health Services

You will also have the opportunity to apply to our rotation programme aimed at developing our staff beyond preceptorship.

To assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care that is based on best practice and delivers high standard of nursing care.

To co-ordinate the individual's assessment and subsequent care plan as agreed with the multi-disciplinary team.

To effectively communicate with clients, family and colleagues

To work and contribute to quality delivery of safe care in a dynamic team

BEH is a multiple award-winning, combined mental health (MH) and community Trust providing local, regional and national healthcare services. We have over 3000 staff delivering a range of MH and community services to a population of over one million. In Enfield, we provide a full range of child and adult community health services, which over the last few years has been integrating with its MH services to provide better and more holistic care. BEH manages the renowned North London Forensic Services (NLFS) which delivers MH care across some of the prisons and provides MH services as HM Young Offenders Institutions in Aylesbury.
