This role is open to the following disciplines;
Consultant Psychiatrist / Nurse / AHP / Psychologist / Social Worker (AfC 8c/8d/9 depending on experience and competencies, and subject to job evaluation) - 0.6WTE plus 20% supplement. Additional 0.4WTE clinical sessions are available.
This is a great leadership opportunity for someone who is interested in designing and developing integrated, high quality mental health services for adults and older people. There has been significant investment in community services to deliver the NHS Long Term Plan. The postholder, along with the Managing Director and Associate Director of Nursing, will be responsible for the day to day operation and performance of services. They will help develop and implement the clinical strategy for community services.

Main duties of the job
The Clinical Director is jointly responsible for the operational management and the performance of services with the Managing Director and Associate Director of Nursing. The Clinical Director is line managed within the medical directorate. For professional and clinical matters they will report to the Medical Director for Adult and Older Adult services. Their duties include:
- Responsibility for the quality of clinical care including safety, effectiveness and patient experience
- Developing and overseeing delivery of the clinical strategy and model
- Joint responsibility with Hospital CD for patient flow in and out of hospital services

- Lead and contribute to the evolving and transformative clinical pathways for adults and older adults. This includes leading the delivery and governance of co-production of clinical pathways and reducing unwanted variation between services.
- Providing leadership and managing clinical, financial, and operational performance of the division in partnership and by supporting the Managing Director and Associate Director of Nursing; holding the clinical focus and accountability for all aspects of service performance, but especially safety, outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Ensuring systems are in place to monitor the performance of the services against both its business targets and plans and against standards for accreditation by external bodies such as the Care Quality Commission, the Clinical Negligence Scheme, etc.
- Developing and articulating The North London Mental Health Partnerships ambition to deliver population-based healthcare and integration with partner organisations
- Providing clinical leadership and being jointly responsible for the quality and safety of clinical practice and ensuring services are evidence-based, including the implementation of NICE, GIRFT and other national guidelines
- Working closely with the wider medical directorate to provide clinical leadership across The North London Mental Health Partnership and implementing operational initiatives from the medical directorate
- Implementing clinical policies, both local and national, including the clinical strategy. Ensuring the effective implementation of the Trusts clinical policies and contributing to relevant clinical committees and groups
