Job summary
- Deputises for house manager as needed to ensure continuity of delivery of mental health care and support to guests at the Crisis and Prevention House (CPH).
- Ensure that the house environment is maintained to a high standard.
- Assume line management for CPH team members as necessary.
- Be responsible for effective clinical and managerial communication systems to, from andwithin the house.
- Provide leadership to ensure a high standard of care.
- Ensure an explicit and consistent co-produced approach is used to inform and support how the CPH engages with guests using the CPH.
- Work closely and alongside urgent care and community services to ensure best use of resources and management of the beds at the house.
- Support the development of the CPH to be prevention orientated, recovery focused and wellbeing informed in terms of staff roles, house function and service delivery.
- Support the integration of the CPH with community and third sector organisations/resource
Main duties of the job
Managerial/Administrative
- Deputise for the House Manager as required.
- Provide clear managerial leadership to the guests and staff of the house, managing the daily affairs of the house to improve standards of care to residents.
- Support the House Manager in the recruitment, selection and retention of staff in the area.
- Support the House Manager to:
- Co-ordinate bed management for the house, ensuring good planning arrangements for admission and discharge of guests.
- Ensure the house is adequately and safely staffed from within the agreed establishment by adopting a flexible approach to duty patterns.
- Ensure the efficient use of staff resources to meet identified needs.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment, making efforts to reduce the numbers of Guests Safety Incidents.
- Develop working practices between house staff and community teams to ensure joint working across services in the delivery of care to guests.
- Ensure house hygiene, house cleanliness, infection control and the maintenance of house fabric, reporting deficiencies where appropriate to Modern Matron, Service Manager the Estates & Facilities dept.
