This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of mental health care for people with complex mood and/or personality disorder traits.
You will be an integral part of a supportive, reflective, and creative MDT and actively encouraged to develop their own clinical areas of interest.

We would be happy to discuss creating a bespoke role that allows some flexibility for continuing to be connected to your core profession. We can help you access supervision from a senior clinician from the same professional background and look to you having protected time for CPD and development opportunities and for carrying out core tasks related to your profession. We have strong links with senior leaders of a variety of professions, the community OT team, and Haringey Council and would be happy to discuss how these links could be embedded in your role.
The MAP Pathway is an innovative, leading service in the treatment of complex anxiety and depression (with underlying Cluster C PD traits). We focus on helping our service users to increase functioning and meaningful activity. Understanding the social needs of our patients is essential to our work and you will take a lead on integrating this into the treatment offered by the pathway.
Main duties of the job
As the Liaison Specialist, you will be the key link between the MAP Pathway, and Acute Services (CRHTT and the wards). It will involve assessment, treatment planning, short-term interventions for patients who present with significant complexity and risk, often requiring urgent intervention. You will be closely supported in this role by the MAP Deputy Lead who will oversee the Liaison work. Alongside this, you will also hold a small caseload of longer-term service users and offer psychologically informed social support, care coordination. There will also be opportunities to run therapeutic groups if you are interested in this.

Job responsibilities
- Liaising with other professionals to support continuity of care for MAP patients across the service and wider system as needed.
- Maintaining a clinical role within the treatment team as key clinician for a small caseload of patients. This will involve formulating and implementing appropriate treatment plans within the clinical model of the service. These will be psychologically informed to ensure high quality, holistic care for patients.
- Working autonomously, within professional guidelines, and the overall framework of the teams policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain contact with patients support networks, both professional and non-professional
- Most clinical contacts will be face-to-face at St Anns. A limited number of home visits will be required where clinically indicated
- Weigh up, evaluate, and make autonomous clinical decisions based on formulation, history, and risk assessment
- Joint working with other members of the MAP Pathway plus other Trust services
- Facilitate therapeutic groups
- Attend ward CPAs, and discharge meetings where necessary
- Attend liaison meetings with CRHTT
