Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic clinician with experience and a passion for service transformation, The role is to lead on the development of the North London Partnership CAMHs Tri borough Single Point of Access (SPOA) across Barnet, Enfield and Haringey, and services provided at the front door. The role involves establishing a supporting the team to carry out assessments, triage, and signposting. The postholder will assist the team with delivering patient facing clinical assessments and brief interventions, undertaken quickly to identify needs early to include 1st assessment, extended assessment up to 3 sessions. The post holder will support specialist ND triage advice, guidance, and support for CYP, their families and other professionals working with CYP.
The role includes having a clinical caseload providing expert therapeutic intervention, as well as the leadership and management of the service. The post holder has overall responsibility for the delivery of SPOA and for implementing and reviewing systems, policies, standards, and procedures that ensure the provision of high-quality services within frameworks agreed by the Trust and the Commissioners. The postholder is expected to work in collaboration with partnerships and VCSE and extend links to support the SPOA offer as part of the ongoing development.
Main duties of the job
- To take overall management responsibility for all aspects of service delivery and operational matters.
- To maintain an active caseload as relevant to professional registration in line with job plan as determined with CAMHS Service Lead. Job plan will allow for balance of clinical / managerial work as required by the needs of the service.
- To support and supervise staff, chair team meetings and respond to queries. To advocate for the service be instrumental in leading
- To develop robust interagency relationships with, Children, Young People and Families within the Service Line, and other key agencies, supporting the development of integrated care pathways and locality working.
- Responsible for overseeing and monitoring of key performance indicators, which include ensuring of managing waiting times
- To be responsible for good clinical governance in the SPOA including regular clinical audit quarterly audits
- Manage the planning and organisation of activities as and when required.
- To provide cover for the other Team Managers or the CAMHS Service Lead as required
- To ensure that accommodation, facilities and staff are organised to enable effective provision of services.
- Through supervision and appraisal will identify their own professional development needs.

- Recognised accredited professional qualification in one of the following: ? Psychology ? Psychotherapy ? Family & Systemic Psychotherapy ? Mental Health Nursing
- Professional healthcare registration, related to qualification above
- Masters university level qualification
- Accredited therapeutic modality training, i.e. CBT; Systemic, DBT, Interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT); EMDR; etc.
Desirable
- Doctorate / PhD / additional training in relevant profession (if not clinical psychology)
- Clinical supervision training
- Parenting qualification and parenting supervision qualification.
- Management or leadership training
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

- Clinical experience as a registered mental health practitioner within community CAMHS
- At least 2 years post qualification experience at Band 8a or higher in a children / young persons mental health setting.
- Extensive experience of providing psychological therapies to children, young people and their families with a wide range of mild, moderate to severe difficulties.
- Experience of working in a culturally diverse area
- Ability to contain, explore and formulate an understanding of high levels of distress both directly with clients and indirectly via supervision of other staff in the community Experience of child safeguarding procedures and how these apply in community CAMHS
