Job summary
We have the opportunity for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join the Integrated Community Learning Disability Service in Barnet (BLDS) on a temporary basis to cover the maternity leave of a team member.
BLDS is an MDT which includes varied Psychology provision for the assessment and intervention for people with a learning disability their families and supporters across the borough.
The MDT is based at the council headquarters in Colindale and clinical space for psychology and psychiatry is hosted in High Barnet. The MDT work a flexible pattern of office and home based working and flexible hours and patterns are possible.
The post holder will provide specialist assessment and intervention to individuals, support staff and families known to BLDS and will support the development of the service. Previous experience of working with people with a learning disability using positive behavior support approaches would be advantageous.

Main duties of the job
Clinical:
- To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a client's mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the client's problems, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy, across the full range of care settings
- To provide specialist assessments for psychological treatment with clients referred to the team based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client's care, when and where appropriate.

- Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS, or registered for, and actively pursuing, the Statement of Equivalence in Clinical Psychology.
- Registration with the Health Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist
