Senior Clinical Fellow - Bone Infection Service

Job summary

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to employ a Senior Fellow in joint reconstruction on a 12 month fixed term contract, starting in August 2026.

The appointee will have elective orthopaedic joint reconstruction experience and be interested in developing their skills in the management of prosthetic joint infections, revision of lower limb arthroplasty and limb salvage.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to play an active role in the Hospital's clinical audit programme in accordance with criteria set by the Trust and by the Royal College of Surgeons.

The appointee will be expected to provide teaching and advice to medical students from Birmingham University whilst on their oncology attachment to the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. Teaching will take place during normal clinical commitments.

During the course of the week research sessions will be made available for ongoing research and audit commitments.

It is anticipated that the appointee will work with each Consultant within the service thus gaining maximum experience.
