Job summary
To be responsible for the management and provision of a high-quality diagnostic patient focused imaging service. This Imaging service will ensure effective diagnosis and treatment to meet the demands of the Trust and local health economy whilst ensuring access to all services and that national and local targets are met.
To lead and develop Imaging services with the responsibility for the operational management of Imaging Team Leaders, Sonographer, Radiographers, Imaging Department Assistants, Medical Secretaries, and Clerical Officers and all modalities within the Imaging Department.
Main duties of the job
The main duties are to ensure effective use of all modalities, to promote and aim for a higher standard of imaging services and to implement service development to benefit patient care.
In addition, HCPC standards must be maintained by all registered staff, IR(ME)R and local rules upheld, radiation and other governance issues investigated with shared learning across all teams.
Recruitment of all Imaging staff, ensure mandatory training and PDRs are completed and are effective and undertake HR functions including managing absences, disciplinary, grievance and investigations.As a budget holder, careful and considered use of all expenditure must be maintained within budgetary limits and contribute to the Trust's CIP targets.
Data validation for national and local targets and ensure strategic planning improves the quality of care in the imaging Department and includes accountability, innovation, transparency, openness, and integrity whilst ensuring the patient remains at the centre of all diagnostic examinations.
