Job summary
The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust invites applications from highly motivated and suitably qualified individuals to the role of Senior Clinical Fellow in Foot and Ankle Surgery. The posts will be commencing from August 2025 and August 2026 for a 12-month period. 6-month posts can be considered
Applicants should have a grounding in Foot and Ankle surgery and ideally have obtained the FRCS or equivalent. The post aims to provide specialist training for individuals who have either completed a UK training program and possess a CCT or have completed an equivalent international training program.
This post, which involves 2-3 all day theatre activity per week, provides an excellent and unique opportunity for intensive hand on surgical training in Foot and Ankle surgery. We have a dynamic and innovative approach to problems and the Fellow will be exposed to newer procedures done under NICE guidance like sinus tarsi implant application and percutaneous bunion surgery, in addition to arthroscopic fusions, complex osteotomies and joint replacements in the foot and ankle.
The fellow will be invited to attend the meetings of the Heart of England Foot and Ankle Society, which is open to consultant Foot and Ankle surgeons in the region.
Main duties of the job

All aspects of Elective Foot & Ankle Surgery including Paediatric Foot and Ankle problems are undertaken. The current schedule does not include involvement of the Fellow in the Paediatric Clinics, but this can be arranged by request.
The specific attachments will be agreed with the appointee at the time of interview. As far as possible attachments will be provided commensurate with the Fellow's special interests or training needs.
The fellow will also be able to undertake research and will need to organize bimonthly problem case meetings. They will undertake teaching for medical students.
