Job summary

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital is at the leading edge of developments in orthopaedics and provides highly specialised care for a national, regional and local population. The podiatry department are looking for dynamic Bank Podiatrists with good communication skills, enthusiasm and flexibility to join us to work in musculoskeletal outpatients.

The outpatient podiatry and physiotherapy departments, ROH at College Green, have recently relocated to a purpose built facility with significant investment from the Trust to support and develop rehabilitation services. The new facility provides a modern environment, including clinic rooms, a specialist podiatry clinic room, a paediatric unit, studio and gymnasium with state of the art equipment.

As a member of the ROH bank you will be expected to manage a caseload of MSK podiatry outpatients utilising skills in assessment and treatment and be committed to providing an effective and efficient service.

Variable hours are available including evening and weekend work.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide specialist assessment and treatment to patients requiring musculoskeletal podiatry management. The main focus will be on implementing and reviewing clinically effective and evidence based treatment for MSK podiatry patients.

  • BSc Degree or equivalent in podiatry
  • HCPC Registration

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience in musculoskeletal and Biomechanical specialities including orthoses provision and stock control.
  • Experience of gait analysis and use of gait analysis equipment (such as foot pressure systems)
  • Evidence of MDT work

Knowledge

Essential

  • Able to deliver specialist assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal podiatry patients, working as an unsupervised autonomous practitioner.
  • Shows evidence of ongoing CPD in relevant field
  • Good IT skills
  • Knowledge and involvement in clinical audit and research
