Job summary
We are seeking to recruit doctor/s to the MSK department on a fixed term contract for 12 months. These are newly created post/s to supplement the existing Spinal Musculoskeletal (MSK) team based at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham and/or local community clinics.
Applications are invited from enthusiastic and highly motivated doctors to join our friendly and supportive department. The work involves assessment and investigation of new patient referrals to spinal MSK outpatient clinics and opportunity to deliver or receive training to participate as one of the team in the Back to Life combined bio-psychosocial pain management program. There may also be scope to train and develop further skills in peripheral joint assessment and injections.

The main duties of the post are in musculoskeletal clinics and / or the Back to Life Functional restoration group programme and assessments based at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital or an off-site venue. The appointee will be expected to take part in all aspects of MSK service provision including assessment and treatment of patients the majority of which will have spinal conditions. The role will not only include the management but also the prevention of MSK problems whilst encouraging increasing activity in the population. The post holder will be expected to work with some flexibility to meet the overall needs of the service.

- Minimum 3 years experience in General Practice or MSK
