Technical Services Manager - Infrastructure & Networks

Job summary

Responsible for overseeing the day to day operations and availability of the Trust's core systems, servers, networking, storage. This includes overall responsibility for the monitoring and scheduled or Adhoc maintenance of all core systems and services.

Provide technical oversight to the whole of the Infrastructure and Networking services, acting as the line manager on significant technical decisions.

The post holder will both function as a lead of the functions and work as an integral part of the Infrastructure Team, providing comprehensive support to both the Deputy Head of Technical Services and to all other IT divisions.

The post holder will also provide architectural input to the IT elements of various Trust wide projects in conjunction with the Senior leadership team.

Main duties of the job

Primary duties

  1. Provide technical assistance and support to the Deputy Head of Technical Services on a broad range of Infrastructure and Network Services
  2. Responsible for deploying the 5 year roadmap but showing when technologies need to be retired and when new market capabilities can be deployed. This will ensure a smooth transition through technology refresh cycles and maintain service delivery for Infrastructure Services.
  3. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of highly complex process maps, using advanced keyboard skills, detailing the whole Digital complex architecture.
  4. Responsibility for working with ROH to evaluate appropriate technical IT solutions and architectures affecting the whole organisation, which will require highly complex analytical judgement.
  5. Identify, recommend, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the Infrastructure and Networks
