Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who is looking to develop their leadership experience and research portfolio within a Regenerative Medicine Laboratory. The Dubrowsky laboratory is located within the operating Theatres at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust, which provides the successful candidate with a unique opportunity to develop cutting edge research. We are looking for a dynamic researcher, lookign to develop their research portfolio, with the capability to manage the Dubrowsky laboratory and the team who work within it. This involves financial oversight, operational responsibility as well as leadership and mentoring of research staff working within the laboratory.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the operational delivery and financial management of the Regenerative Medicine Laboratory. This involves supporting the Pathology Manager in the provision of specialist research laboratory services and expert guidance to researchers and their teams across a range of orthopaedic sub-specialities.
The post holder will have supervisory responsibility for other internal and external research staff working in the lab, including students, to ensure compliance with local policies and procedures. They will be responsible for health and safety within the lab and the development of policies and procedures which comply with regulatory requirements.
The post holder will be expected to make a major contribution to the technical excellence and successful performance of the experimental work, provide technical and administrative support to investigators in the preparation of grant applications, development of study-specific lab procedures and undertaking designated laboratory duties relating to active research programmes.
