Job summary
Ward 3 is a 24 bedded Oncology ward. We provide specialist post operative oncology care for patients from all over the country, Southern Ireland and Jersey-our consultants are highly sort after for the specific surgeries they can perform. We not only care for orthopaedic oncology but also soft tissue sarcoma's working closely with Plastic Surgeons from QEHB.
We work closely as part of a wide multi-disciplinary team on the ward including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, McMillan Nurses and Tissue Viability.
We have 3 side rooms sponsered by the Teenage Cancer Trust so can care for patients and their relatives from the age of 16 to 24.
We offer training and development in this role to further enable you to give the high standard of care we strive to give all our patients.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:? Practice autonomously and be responsible and accountable for safe, compassionate, person centred care.? Ensure a high standard of patient care is delivered in an effective and efficient manner,reflecting the values and ethos of The Royal OrthopaedicHospital NHS Foundation Trust.? Be responsible for assessing care needs of patients. Planning, implementation and the evaluation of these programmes without direct supervision.
