Job summary

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust is seeking to employ one Clinical Fellow on a twelve-month fixed term contract in the Bone Infection Unit, starting August 2024. This post sits amongst the Orthopaedic Oncology and Complex Joint Reconstruction team.

The appointee will work under the supervision of bone infection specialists, including consultants in orthopaedic oncology and complex arthroplasty. This will include clinics, ward care and operating theatre sessions as described in the job plan.

Main duties of the job

Teaching

The appointee will be expected to provide teaching and advice to medical studentsfrom Birmingham University whilst on their oncology attachment to the RoyalOrthopaedic Hospital. Teaching will take place during normal clinical commitments.Research

During the course of the week research sessions will be made available for ongoingresearch and audit commitments.

Audit

The post holder will be expected to play an active role in the Hospital's clinical audit programme in accordance with criteria set by the Trust and by the Royal College of Surgeons
