Emma Addie our current Director of Nursing has been supported with her nursing leadership development and aspirations and has been promoted. She leaves massive shoes to fill but it means I have an exciting opportunity in my CNO Senior Team.
The post leads our Practice Education Team, Medicines Management Team, Global Majority Practice Educator, Resuscitation team to name but a few, the role is also my senior point of contact for NMC and HCPC working relationships. It leads our CPD spending aligned to our workforce objectives. This role has the opportunity to influence our future workforce across the borough. I'm keen to support new and blended roles across our system and so this role has the autonomy and influence to develop those roles.
Whilst in post Emma has led the vice chair of the locality education strategy group and has influenced system wide change, she has been shortlisted as the NHS Clinical leader of the year and has won the Nursing Times workforce non clinical leader of the year, supporting her aspirations she has been supported to undertake the national Deputy Director of Nursing programme and the safe staffing fellow programme, development is supported and influences the way we work and the care our patients receive.
Main duties of the job
The Corporate Director of Nursing is responsible for development and implementation of Trust policies and strategy designed to achieve quality in healthcare NMAHP Education, Workforce & Regulation, Safe Staffing, Professional Practice, Advanced Practice, Non-Medical Prescribing and Professional Nurse/Midwife Advocate. Professional management of the Patient Flow Team.
Corporate Director of Nursing - Education, Workforce and Professional Standards is a strategic leadership post supporting workforce development and education of our NMAHP workforce. This post will have the opportunity to be an associate honorary lecturer at Edge Hill University forging relationships between partners.
