We have an exciting opportunity at WWL for Band 5 Staff Nurses to complete our teams. We have vacancies across a number of our specialities within our 2 Divisions. We are looking for registrants who live to our values and deliver care to our patients that they would expect their loved ones to receive.

We know that work life balance is important and so are pleased to support a number of contracts including but not inclusive of: Permanent, Fixed Term Full/Part Time, Seasonal Hours, Annualised Hours, Term time contracts and a number of flexible working arrangements.

These roles may be ward/clinic/outpatient based.

Roles are available across all of our Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh sites.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide safe, effective nursing care in line with professional standards and local policies.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care using evidence-based practice.
  • Administer medications and treatments, maintaining accurate records.
  • Communicate clearly with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement and service development.
  • Supervise and support junior staff, students and healthcare assistants.
  • Maintain professional development and comply with NMC revalidation requirements.
  • Promote the vision and values of Wrightington Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, leading by example and ensuring that they demonstrate those values in their leadership behaviours and how we support our teams and deliver our service.
