Job summary
Hi, I'm Kev the very proud Chief Nursing Officer here at WWL. Due to one of my senior leadership team leaving for new ventures in September we have an exciting one year fixed term/secondment/Development opportunity as a Divisional Nurse Director for one of our Clinical Divisions in my Senior Leadership Team.
You will see the Clinical, Leadership and Academic requirements of the post within the Job Description and Personal Specification, which are generic and expected at both this band and role, but in addition to this we are looking for a special leader, we want somebody who wants to make a difference for our patients and teams here at WWL and across our Wigan Locality.
We are looking for a strong leader who has a transformational 'can do' approach to changing the way in which we work to have a direct impact in the way in which we care for patients. Ensuring our teams are engaged, enthused and encouraged to be the best is incredibly important.
Putting patients and staff at the heart of our decisions, and ensuring that we are delivering the fundamentals of care to every patient every time will be a core objective and sign of what good looks like for this post holder.
In return you will be part of leadership team that cares about each other, work as a united leadership team and have a shared vision. In addition to the Divisional portfolio there will be the opportunity to lead on both corporate and system wide work.
Main duties of the job
We are becoming trailblazers in the way in which we are developing our workforce, integrating health and social care initiatives to support better outcomes for patients and have in the last 2 weeks had nursing teams and schemes shortlisted for 8 National Awards.
You will have the autonomy to lead, drive change and work with system partners across our brilliant community and locality.
This post is a key post in our leadership team, and so the recruitment process is a 2 way process, we want you to want to be part of Team WWL and so please contact me or any of the senior leadership team, come and join us on site and get a 'feel' of WWL.
The post is a 12 month opportunity and would support candidates who are either well established Nurse Directors who want a change or aspiring Nurse Directors who want to join a fab team who will support and nurture you through transition of a Deputy (or similar) into this role.
