Ward Clerk - SDEC

Job summary
We require a Band 3 Ward Clerk to be the first point of contact for our SDEC service users.
This is a 12 hour post with opportunity to work extra on an ad hoc basis. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts to ensure our clients are booked in ,in a timely manner prior to assessment and treatment.
SDEC is currently open 8:00 - 21:00 with plans to expand these in the future.
The role is varied as our clerical staff provide comprehensive support to all staff in SDEC.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent computer skills with the ability to work as an individual and part of a team whilst having a positive attitude to customer care.
The successful candidate must be flexible and organised and display excellent communication and interpersonal skill and deal with a wide range of public and professional staff in a courteous and professional manner, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Main duties of the job
- Provide comprehensive administration support to the SDEC Team
- Act as first point of contact for communications to the department and deal with all such communications appropriately, including sensitive issues.
- Create, input and update SDEC admissions/arrivals ensuring data is inputted and notes are scanned onto electronic systems.
