Job summary
The Fitter/Plumber post will be based at Wrightington Hospital, Working 5 days per week Monday to Friday 7.5 hours each day, plus on call 1 in 4 and overtime requirements.
The post holder will be a person with thorough training and experience in Mechanical services, plant, and equipment, who is able to work on their own initiative and without supervision.
The post holder will demonstrate leadership skills and will be multi-skilled across a range of technical engineering and building skill areas within the maintenance function.
You will need to be committed to flexibility and the continuing development of technical knowledge and new skills.
Main duties of the job
To assist and support multi skilled crafts persons on new and routine maintenance repair tasks.
To supervise maintenance assistants and to give guidance and training where required.
To carry out routine PPM duties on a range of complex and specialised building and engineering plant and equipment including those matters indicated below under information resources.
To use fine tools and specialist equipment and to demonstrate knowledge of safe working practices and to ensure the security of all plant equipment and buildings belonging to the trust and other authorities managed under a Service Level agreement.
To assist higher skilled grades as necessary and to liaise with work in conjunction with sub-contractors when required.
The post holder will be required to drive the works vehicle to complete the duties of the post.
The post holder will be expected to effectively carryout appropriate duties as part of the Trust's Fire Response, Lift Release, Major Incident and Emergency On-Call Teams.
