Join Our Team: IM&T Junior Project Manager

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated IM&T Junior Project Manager to join our Production and Modernisation team. This role offers a chance to manage small projects, lead workstreams of larger projects, and contribute significantly to our IM&T solutions.

The post holder will be responsible for their own delegated activities and decision making, referring to the Head of Digital Transformation and/or Senior Project Managers.

The Production & Modernisation Department manage a number of projects that deliver the organisation's digital solutions. These solutions often include implementing a new Clinical Information Systems and/or systems development.

Main duties of the job

  • Manage small projects and workstreams within the IM&T department.
  • Ensure timely delivery of work packages within budget.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure quality and patient safety.
  • High level of autonomy and ability to work without day-to-day supervision.
  • Availability to work unsociable hours for system upgrades and go-lives as required.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will manage small projects and lead workstreams of larger projects. The post holder will be responsible for their own delegated activities and decision making, referring to the Head of Digital Transformation and/or Senior Project Managers on exception.

The Production & Modernisation Department manage a number of projects that deliver the organisations digital solutions. These solutions often include implementing a new Clinical Information Systems and/or systems development.

The post holder will have a high level of autonomy, within the confines of their assigned projects and/or workstreams and is expected to work without day-to-day supervision.

They will be suitably skilled and knowledgeable to:

Draft all relevant notes and other associated media for assigned projects and workstreams.

Ensure the delivery of work packages within agreed timescales and budgets.

Manage risks, issues and actions, and report these to the responsible Senior Project Manager where applicable.

Ensure that small projects and workstreams are fully accountable to ensure patient safety and quality of care is at the forefront.

Establish necessary monitoring and tracking toolkits to support the business throughout delivery of assigned projects and workstreams.

Liaise with the Digital Development Manager to ensure any data migration tasks relating to the project workstreams is undertaken accurately within agreed project timescales.

Ensure system testing and interface testing is undertaken thoroughly and to an agreed specification within agreed project timescales.

Liaise with the Business Analysis Team to ensure they produce quality business cases for new Digital Projects.

Liaise with Clinical Informatics to ensure Clinical Safety Assessments are undertaken when required and delivered within agreed project timescales.

Liaise with Data, Analytics & Assurance to ensure reporting requirements for new systems are specified and delivered within agreed project timescales.

Responsible to the Head of Digital Transformation for providing an overview of the status of assigned projects and workstreams.

Responsible for planning own priorities.

Quality assuring documentation produced by self and other project team members.

Prepare Project stage and exception plans in conjunction with other project team members and stakeholders.

Ensure the production of Highlight and End Stage Reports.

Manage risks and issues, maintaining a risk and issues log.

Responsible for all appropriate elements of project administration.

Work with the Digital Testing Manager to plan for all testing, including User Acceptance Testing, as part of project planning.

Work with the Digital Training Manager to plan training for end users as part of project planning.

Contribute to communications with project stakeholders in accordance with the project Communications Plan.

Contribute to ensure overall direction and integrity of the project.

Chair meetings and ensure requirements and actions are fully documented and communicated.

Attend Project Meetings and present workstream update reports, risks and issues.
