Job summary

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen and we are looking for a Clinical Nurse Educator to join the Lowton ward team. The Clinical Nurse Educator role is designed to influence the quality of the clinical learning environment by providing support, educational input and development activities for the staff on Lowton ward.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Nurse Educator role is designed to influence the quality of the clinical learning environment by providing support, educational input and development activities for the staff on Lowton ward. The role will involve:

  • Working closely with new starters on their supernumerary period, facilitating induction, preceptor ship, mandatory updates and continuing professional development for all levels of ward staff.
  • You will undertake clinical nursing practice working alongside individual staff members and teams, providing supervision, teaching and assessment of competence.
  • To promote within the organisation, a positive learning environment that ensures the delivery of best practice.
  • Support the delivery of clinical skill training.
  • Work with clinical teams to ensure there is appropriate work based learning in all areas which offer appropriate learning opportunities for supporting and developing learners.
  • To support all nursing staff and allied health professionals in their professional and personal development.
  • Participate in the design, implementation and evaluation of current/new programmes of education/training.
  • Contributes to the local implementation of the Nursing, Midwifery, Therapy and Care Staff Strategy in liaison with wider nursing and Professional Practice team.
