Job summary
The Catering Team at WWL are looking to recruit a Catering Driver. As a driver you will be an integral member of the team to ensure food deliveries are transported, collected, and delivered to a range of customers ensuring food safety is maintained, and HACCP process is followed at all times.
This post is for 30 hours per week, working Wednesday to Sunday. The shifts will be either 6.00 am - 12.00 pm or 12.00 pm - 6.00 pm. The candidate must have excellent customer service skills, and high standards of personal hygiene.
Main duties of the job
When not required to deliver products, you will be expected to assist with the preparation or picking of products for delivery, in addition to general cleaning duties. As a member of the team, you will undertake a wide range of duties as directed by the Catering Supervisor. The role is key to supporting the team by undertaking the movement of goods as required, using Trust vehicles whilst adhering to the Highway Code at all times.
The candidate should possess good customer service skills as you will be communicating with customers at all levels. A valid driving licence with the relevant classes of vehicle will be essential. However, no previous experience is required as cleaning and food handling training will be given. This will include COSHH training, minor cooking skills and attendance on a Level 2 Food Safety course.
A basic understanding of vehicle checks and completion of vehicle records is desirable.
